    ■ Initial post: June 2008

    Dave Meniketti at his best.
“Ten” (along with its predecessor “Contagious”) still remain my favourite Y & T album since the early 90s when I first got acquainted with the band.
You can’t call yourself a MHR fan unless you have this gem in your collection; not a single weak moment here, it’s hook after hook for 60 consecutive minutes – pretty rare nowadays don’t you think?
Regrettably, I only have a cassette to show (from back in the day), the artwork of which I scanned.
Those record label executive MORONS decided the original cover was too “revealing” and reissued the album with something less daring (I wouldn’t exactly call it conservative), I just wanted to point that out.
Until recently, every copy available featured the latter and that is why I never bothered to get it on CD.
Fortunately, Universal Music Japan re-released it on SHM [Super High Material] *Mini LP CD* using this time the original artwork.
The prices for this luxurious edition start from $30 (excluding shipping cost) – OUCH!
I’ll buy it eventually, but that’s not likely to happen in the near future – I mean for that amount of money I could get 3 other CDs…

    ■ Update #1: April 2010

Drawn by a what proved to be a misleading advertisement, I finally bought a (brand new) copy at a reasonable price.
You can clearly see the original artwork at the store’s page (HMV.com), yet the CD I actually received was Geffen *Goldline* reissue featuring the censored cover, I specifically wanted to avoid.
    (thumbs down ^ n)
At least now you know which edition NOT to spend your money on!
Better look for the 1st pressing (should have different Catalogue Number & Barcode; considering how many years have passed since its release, I seriously doubt you’ll ever find anything better than worn-out copies) or the Japanese SMH Remaster – if you can afford it that is…

    ■ Update #2: February 2011

Finally, got to scan the artwork 😉

Have just got into Y&T after their latest “Facemelter” keeps playing over and over in my car!
Thanks for another one to try.

A good one, I have a copy on vinyl 🙂
This album was the latest I like for Y&T until they released “Facemelter” in 2010.
    Thanks a lot!
