    2009 leftovers…
Due to unforeseen circumstances I’m posting “Imaginos” with a 2 week delay.
What can I say? Holiday season is postal services’ nightmare and USPS was no exception.
The CD arrived on December 31st, almost 3½ weeks after concluding the order.
The quality of the album, though, is so high that the delay didn’t bother me at all.
What did (and still does) bother me was the poor-looking 2-page booklet and, most importantly, the absence of lyrics.
I picked this reissue in specific, expecting something better compared to earlier editions.
It’s ironic you know, there’s a message printed saying “the reissue supervisor has gone to great lengths to find the correct credits etc”
No point of complaining now I guess, so enough with the nagging.

Just a few suggestions before playing the album:
    1. Shut the doors – place a “Do not disturb” sign if necessary 😛
    2. Deactivate all telecommunication devices
    3. Get yourselves a decent pair of headphones
    4. Remember: The moment you press play you’ll be transferred to another world – after the journey is finished you’ll need some time before returning to a *normal state*
    5. (Optional) Wait until another Record Label (preferably a Japanese one) releases a DECENT edition before investing any money

    Personal Rating:
9 *hooks-and-crosses* out of 10, in my opinion BÖC’s magnum opus.
[Too bad the band totally ignores it, I would kill to see them performing “In the presence of another world” live]

    Trivia:
Quite a few famous musicians contributed as sessions, among them Joe Satriani and Aldo Nova.
You may want to have a look at the respective Wikipedia article.

Another excellent choice. I can only second your comment, this is their best album.
Thanks for this upload and your work,

I have an older rip of this album and I’m looking forward to upgrading, thanks for the upload.
Hopefully, this reissue isn’t a victim of the loudness/brickwall wars – I’ll keep my fingers crossed!
    Thanks again.

Yum, that was an enticing review and impossible not to rush and get this in order to digest it fully in just the way you suggest!
    Thanks.

Sorry to say the Loudness Wars claimed this Remaster, DR [Dynamic Range] value of 7!

I ripped the vinyl [24-bit 96kHz] and posted it on Avax.ws
Not stellar, but a DR of 11 which was pretty surprising to me. Great record nonetheless.

In my opinion, one of THE greatest Hard Rock albums of all time. Forgotten, waiting to be rediscovered at a later date. I can still see the old “Columbia” red label vinyl spinning away on my Technics SL1200 MkII.

Nice version of this album. I notice, when compared to the original vinyl version and the import CD I stumbled across years ago, that this version is much less muddy than either of those.
I always felt that it was one of the muddiest recordings of all time. Then again, there’s a lot going on there.

RESPECT. This is the No. 1 theme album ever!

Awesome! Still looking for a better edition of this gem. It looks like it wasn’t very well produced at the time, and always sounded flat and muddy to me.
A shame, because these mammoth songs deserve a perfect sound. Especially on rhythm section.
Even the vinyl edition is poor. We hope someday someone will unfold the original tapes and make “Imaginos” as it should be made.

Probably my favourite BÖC album, it beats the Hell out of many Heavy Metal Gods. But sounds awful.
Not a reason to stop listening to it, that’s for sure.

At the time of this post, FLAC only SolidFiles works properly.
Thanks man, it’s my favourite album too.
