Now, where do I begin?
Rather than writing a review of “11:11”, I’d like to convey my thoughts about Rodrigo Sánchez’s/Gabriela Quintero’s recent visit in Greece.
“Some enchanted evening”
To be honest I was saving the title for BÖCʼs gig preceding Rodrigo y Gabrielaʼs live appearance by a week, but the latter was such an overwhelming experience I have yet to recover!
Do forgive me, certain things are hard to put into sentences…
An earthy feeling, a sense of familiarity even though we meet for the first time.
Being on the same wavelength, communicating without speaking.
Sharing the same pulse: Reading every facial expression, even the slightest gesture instantly – no misconceptions.

I ask myself the same question! The symptoms were similar, I can tell you that.
Being a guitar freak I normally focus on the fretboards, that night I couldn’t, I just couldn’t.

At the end all you saw were hands red from clapping and happy faces, many happy faces.
An unusual feeling of serenity as something grand was accomplished and WE were part of it, not just there to witness.

● Is that all?
Nope, we’re not done yet.
Let’s just say, I recently developed an *interest in photography*.
● Really?
Nah, I just snagged my brother’s (mid-to-low priced) camera a few minutes before leaving for the gig.
There was no time to go through the manual or experiment with the presets, I merely pressed the snap button each time hoping the red-eye-reduction was on 😛
And that’s why the photos look -how shall I put it elegantly- well, amateurish (some might say crappy, I take no offence)

The only decent picture, was taken by another (avid) fan whom I asked to capture me with Rod & Gab after the show [that shot was excluded for *privacy reasons*]
That guy, Apostolis, was there the previous night as well and even managed to get an interview.
What’s more, the decision was taken on the spot. There was absolutely no arrangement, he simply asked them and they whole-heartedly agreed – how cool is that?
Add that to the fact that it was the ONLY interview given to any Greek media and he’s not a journalist by profession and you have the whole picture.
Another point scored for the Mexican duo.
