A great discovery for me. Wonderful guitar parts with lot of feeling.
I love the “black 70s vibe” and the modern sound of the guitar’s parts (this guy reminds me Richie Kotzen, the genius Steve Vai and Vernon Reid).
Thank you my friend… A cool journey…
Michel.
Thanks a lot.
I don’t know if I have a twisted imagination (…), but the last song reminds me a lot of Μανώλης Χιώτης [Manolis Chiotis] playing bouzouki!
You have to admit the name is intriguing.
Buckethead, Errorhead, a predictable train of thought, isn’t it?
They have nothing in common though – other than being awesome guitarists of course!
The trick worked – that in conjunction with the title chosen and the truly stand-out artwork, form a very promising package.
One of the few times when promises are actually fulfilled.
A wandering ’70s vibe, phenomenal -vintage- guitar tone (including a sitar effect I so much like but rarely enjoy on today’s albums), if you like diversity you’re in the right place.
Somehow the guy even managed to include Gregorian psalms (did I get that right?) in #9, “Heaven” – a fitting title indeed.
How does he do it?
I guess this is what you get when a gifted musician is involved.
Oh, yes Marcus Deml aka Errorhead definitely belongs in the Major League!
“Modern Hippie” was in my top-5 “Best Guitar-oriented albums for the year 2008” list under “Silence followed by a deafening roar” by you know who and “Clean” by Martone.
The minute I spotted a copy [and what a bargain that was, only £3 for a brand new/factory sealed CD] I grabbed it, I suggest you do the same.
Trivia:
I was glancing through the booklet when my eye caught a familiar name. It was the percussionist, Zacky Tsoukas (α, ρε πατρίδα!)
And then I remembered: He was member of a *traditional* Heavy Metal band called Attack.
I checked my collection and unearthed 2 CDs, “Revitalize” [1994] & “The secret place” [1995]; I haven’t heard them in years but I think my view at the time was *decent music/undeservingly mediocre production*.
Perhaps I should give them a spin…

Thanks for the heads up Alex, grabbing it now.
The other comments look good too!
All the best, Paul.
Superb, thanks 🙂
Damn fine tone to that guitar!
Just finished listening to 320kbps copy of this all-too-short album, so appreciate the lossless version.
Thanks again.
