Soon after the Grunge plague hit music, the entire late 80s Hard Rock/Hair Metal/Glam genre -once heavily promoted-, went out of fashion over a night.
    Ain't music industry great?
[In case you didn't catch my drift, I was being sarcastic]
As hard as those days were, something positive came out of it:
Many record stores started making clearances to get rid of their stock.
I couldn't let that opportunity pass me by, could I?
The prices were so low, I was buying them [strictly vinyls] by the dozen!
Autograph, Badlands, Black 'n' Blue, Britny Fox, Cinderella, you name it!
Admittedly, not every single one of those albums proved to be a masterpiece, but for a mere 500 drachmas each [approximately €1.5/$2 in today's currency) the possibility of getting something you wouldn't exactly remember for the rest of your life was negligible.

Among them, were Hurricane's first two releases, “Take what you want” [EP] & “Over the edge”.
OK, to be perfectly honest it was the *cover artwork* that drew to me in the first place 😛
[you know what they say about first impressions]
But hey, I got to listen to Kelly Hansen for the first time, that's got to count for something.
Over the edge” may have never won any awards, but Kelly Hansen's presence alone is a reason to have it.
Superb voice, the man always excels [incidentally, Foreigner couldn't have made a better choice]
I can't say the same about the songs though…
Sure, there's the s/t and “I'm on to you” [probably got some serious Radio play back in the day] but a few fillers as well.
    Overall, I'd say it's *uneven*.
I won't get into more details, if you want to hear the real Hurricane check the follow-up, “Slave to the thrill” featuring the one and only Doug Aldrich.

    Trivia:
The CD booklet has no indication of who wrote what and consequently I had to unearth the vinyl edition to get the names right.
I figured that while I was at it, I might as well take a photo of the LP [it's included in both RARs]
Apparently the record label, Enigma, did a sloppy job on BOTH editions 😡
While crosschecking the credits, I realised “Taylor/DeLuca/Rhodes” were in fact TWO composers, Tom DeLuca and Taylor Rhodes
