This band plays -excellent if I may add- Melodic Hard Rock/Pomp Rock/AOR (yes, all those) and their name is Departure.
Is that a dead give-away or what?
All they need to complete the Journey tribute is a contract with Frontiers Records 😉
Now seriously, I know this particular genre won’t change the course of music.
Be that as it may, I can’t help being hooked to all these melodramatic -sappy if you like- melodies/big choruses/vocal harmonies/well-polished sound.
It only takes one song [in this case #3, “You were mine” – a real gem, trust me you’re going to LOVE it!] and my defences go down.
If you’re into Journey you won’t be disappointed. If not, well, it’s your loss 😛

I agree with you on Departure. Very nice! Very easy to listen to.
I have an appreciation for well produced works – and this is certainly a good one; and yes the similarities to Journey’s latter works borders on infringement.

Speaking of Journey, I was a big fan, especially of the earlier works with Gregg Rolie on keys.
That was a fantastic sound, very progressive and talented.

    Cheers,
    K

(…) trust me you're going to LOVE it!

I agree, and yes it does sound a lot like Journey.
    Fantastic band, thanks again.
